What Constitutes A High Achiever?

by Stanley Bronstein on May 9, 2008

Achievement

Achievement – Something accomplished, esp. by superior ability, special effort, great courage, etc.; a great or heroic deed.

No matter how much research I do, I keep coming up with one word that describes HIGH ACHIEVERS. That word is SPECIAL.

High achievers are special people. That also tells me that in order to have done something that is considered an achievement, it must be something that is special.

So, today’s post is focused on being special.

Special – Of a distinct or particular kind or character. Being a particular one; particular, individual, or certain.

Being a particular one; particular, individual, or certain.

What Is A High Achiever?

Quite simply, a high achiever is a person who will do things others will not do and who will do them in a manner others will not.

In other words, you have to differentiate yourself from others around you.

If you are something different, then you will be something special. If you are something special, then you might be a high achiever.

As I have said before, a high achiever is a person who:

SEES opportunities others do not see;

ATTRACTS opportunities others do not attract;

Is READY to act upon opportunities in a manner where others are not ready; and

ACTS upon opportunities in a manner that others do not.

The 4 Ingredients

Vision

Attraction

Readiness; &

Action

If you have those four characteristics, you are well on your way to being successful.

Today’s Video

In today’s video, Roy Sakuma of Honolulu, Hawaii talks about the power the 2 main mentors in his life had upon him. I am a big believer in mentors and I know that their presence will help us all.

Roy Sakuma is one of the persons who will be featured in my upcoming book:

Achievement IQ Moments
50 Stories About Powerful People
Who Positioned Themselves To The Top

One great side-benefit of a high achiever is the number of people she or inspires to emulate.

I think being a source of positive inspiration is one of the best things anyone (especially a parent/mentor) can be.

Enjoy,

Barbara

Barbara: I agree with you completely. If you can inspire a bunch of followers, you are obviously doing something right.
