Vision Quest Project - Day 7 - REPORT

Saying thank you is more than good manners. It is good spirituality. (Alfred Painter)
Current Status Report
At the very beginning, I want to say Thank You.
Thank you for being supportive and paying attention to my Vision Quest Project.
Thank you for those of you who have joined me with your own personal development projects.
I am also thankful that I am now just about finished with my 7th day of this fast and I’m hanging in there quite well.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m hungry, but I’m not weak; I’m not cranky; and I actually feel great.
I can tell that a lot of my personal goals are being met by this fast. My energy level is rising and my body is definitely healing. My left achilles (the injured one), feels better than it has in probably 8 months. I’m not limping and it’s really starting to get it’s strength back. I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
What Was The Hardest Part Of Day Seven?
Just the length of the day. I started my day where I was interviewed at 5:00 AM and I’ve been on the go ever since.
The longer the day is, the more opportunities there are to weaken. However, I haven’t weakened yet.
As I said before, I decided from the very beginning that I was going to take this fast, one hour at a time, one day at a time. As of now, I’m sticking to it. On to Day 8.
What Did I Eat Today?
Nothing.
What Did I Drink Today?
Purified water. AND, some diet soda, caffeine free.
How Do I Feel?
I feel great. I’m ready to hit the sack, but I feel great. However, before doing so, my wife and I are going to hop into the pool for 30 minutes or so.
Making Life Changes
FIRST, I RECOMMEND THAT YOU CONSULT WITH YOUR OWN DOCTOR BEFORE YOU TAKE ANY ACTION, SUCH AS A FAST. I AM NOT A DOCTOR AND I AM NOT GIVING ANY MEDICAL ADVICE. IF YOU DECIDE TO FAST OR TAKE ANY OTHER ACTION, YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK, WHICH IS WHY I RECOMMEND YOU SPEAK WITH A MEDICAL DOCTOR BEFORE TAKING ANY ACTION.
Once again, I’d like to remind our readers that this is NOT just my Vision Quest Project. It can be yours too. I’m not saying you need to fast, BUT if there is anything you want to work on, join us. You can lend me moral support and encouragement during my Vision Quest and our other readers (and myself), will lend you the moral support and encouragement during your Vision Quest.
I know of a few people who have joined me. I want to get more people signed up.

Thanks for sharing your vision quest with us. My goal is to lose weight a little at a time, the same way I gained it. To accomplish that I’m eating healthier–vegs, fruit, fish, fiber–and exercising–I love to walk and my goal is daily, but so have done 4 consecutive days in one week and 2 to 3 days most weeks.

Flora:
I’m proud of you. Losing weight a little bit at a time is a good way to do it. I used to weigh 367 pounds (15 years ago) and that’s how I lost a bunch of weight.
Walking is a good exercise. Just keep it up. How much walking do you do on days when you walk?
One thing I’ve done is that I have a treadmill at home, which makes it really easy to walk. BUT, one of the great things about walking is that it can be done outside (or in the mall even) at absolutely no cost whatsoever. If you can afford a treadmill and you have the room for it, you may want to consider getting one. Otherwise, walking outside is great.
Have you tried finding a walking buddy? That makes it easier to walk when you have someone to talk with while walking.
In any event, you’re on the right track. Keep it up. Keep us informed as to how it’s going.
