The Holidays Are About Family & Friends Not $ £ ¥ or €

It’s Good To Have Money And The Things Money Can Buy, But It’s Good, Too, To Check Up Once In A While And Make Sure That You Haven’t Lost The Things That Money Can’t Buy. (George Lorimer)
Money – Any article or substance used as a medium of exchange, measure of wealth, or means of payment.
Good – Morally excellent. Right; proper; fit.
Buy – To acquire the possession of, or the right to, by paying or promising to pay an equivalent, esp. in money.
Keeping It Short And Sweet
The upcoming holiday season is going to see a competition of interests.
Marketers are going to tell us that we need to spend money in order to buy presents for our family and friends.
After all, if we don’t spend money on someone, obviously we don’t care. Right ???
I just want to remind you that the holidays are NOT about how much money you spend on someone.
If you can afford it, fine. Buy presents to your heart’s content.
But, if you can’t afford it, do NOT spend your money. Give your time and love instead.
So, Is The Holiday Season Going To Be Bad This Year?
I actually think it might be better than previous years. I predict, THIS YEAR, that people will indeed focus more on love and friendship during the holidays, as opposed to money.
An Opportunity For Your Children
This year (as in all years) presents an EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY for you to teach your children.
Tell them that this year instead of having 2 presents (or 3, 4 or 5 – however it works), there are other less fortunate children who need their help. Have them give up 1 (or more) of their presents and when you go shopping, have them pick out a present for some other child. Then take them with you to deliver the present to the appropriate organization that is collecting them.
You will be teaching your child (or children) a VERY valuable lesson that will stick with them for their entire lives.

Paradoxically, the more we give, the more we receive. Such is the law of attraction and the law of abundance.
