Vivienne:

I believe we can manage time also, BUT like Nightingale said, primarily by deciding how we're going to use it . . .

We have to use it wisely.

There's always opportunity cost. I believed Earl Nightingale said something like we cannot manage time but we can manage activities.

Joe:

Like you, I still watch some things (Star Trek for example).

Time to give up a few more things I watch.

I don't think I'll ever TOTALLY give up TV, but I've definitely cut back on it immensely over the past several years.

Seems to me I've just decided to give it up a little bit more . . .

I have given up chunks of TV watching. I used to watch it all the time in the 80's and 90's but as the quality of comedies started to go down hill so did my TV watching. There are a handful of shows now that I will watch and one of them is on Thursday night and is in it's final season as soon as it leaves the prime time line up Thursday will no longer be the greatest night on TV for me. I rarely turn on the TV when my son isn't home as there really isn't anything on that I want to watch. I do watch my soap ever so often just to catch up on things.

I don't watch professional sports. I will watch college basketball though because I am an avid KU fan. I can watch one game in a fraction of the time a professional basketball game takes.

I gave up TV 25 years ago when I was on a temporary work assignment in California and lived in a rented apartment with rental furniture and no TV. What an eye-opener to see how much better my quality of life was with out it. So, it may not be just the football games! Now, if only I could give up the computer....
