Success Quote Of The Day – 03/27/2008

by Stanley Bronstein on March 27, 2008

Do not look back on happiness — or dream of it in the future. You are only sure of today; do not let yourself be cheated out of it.

– Henry Ward Beecher

Happiness – Good fortune, pleasure, contentment, joy. The state of being delighted, pleased or glad.

Future – The time that is to be, or come hereafter. Something that will exist or happen in the time to come.

Sure – Free from doubt; confident.

Cheated – To be deceived, deprived or mislead. To elude or escape.

Don’t look back on your good fortune, pleasure contentment or joy. Nor should you dream of it as something that will exist or happen in the time to come. You can only be free from doubt and confident of it today. Do not let it elude you.

What does all this mean?

It means that we should live for the moment. Don’t look back, don’t look forward. Look at where you are today. That is what is most important. If we focus too much on the past, or too much on the future, today’s happiness will elude us and we will not experience it.

We have to be appreciative of the hear and now. If we do not appreciate what we have today, who says we’ll be able to appreciate tomorrow more? If we spend too much time looking back at past happiness, then we lose the opportunity to be happy today.

Where can we find happiness?

Happiness is all around us. We only have to look for it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting the world is perfect, but there are all types of opportunities to be happy everyday. I’m fortunate to live in a beautiful desert community. I’ve lived here for nearly 7 years and I still notice beautiful things in the area that have been there all the time, but somehow they escaped my scrutiny in the past. Somehow I managed to not notice these opportunities to experience happiness.

What can we do to increase our opportunities to be happy?

This is where the Laws of Positioning comes in. Simply apply the 4 factors and you can increase you happiness.

Vision – You must look all around you and notice opportunities to be happy. If you never notice them, then they will pass you by.

Attraction – You must attract opportunities to be happy. The best way to do this is to realize that you are entitled to be happy. You must tell yourself and tell the universe that you have the right to be happy. You deserve happiness and it will come to you, AUTOMATICALLY.

Readiness – You must be ready to be happy. If you are miserable, then you are not ready to be happy. Be ready for happiness and it will come into your life. If you are not ready, it will pass you by.

Action – When the opportunities to be happy arise, you must do just that. BE HAPPY. Not yesterday, not tomorrow, but TODAY. Right now.

One person who knows how to be happy is Tina Wells of Voorhees, NJ. Tina owns and runs a company known as Buzz Marketing that conducts market research on what makes people happy. Watch the video below and you’ll get some great advice from Tina on how to be happy.
