Quote #1 -What Does It Suggest?

This quote suggests a couple of absolutely beautiful ideas that I believe in completely.

  • You are responsible for yourself. – I don’t know what has happened in this world, but for some reason, very few people are willing to take responsibility for their own actions. They want to blame everything on somebody else. NO WAY – THAT SIMPLY WON’T CUT IT.
  • Forget who is responsible for whatever and simply realize that if you do your best to put things together, RIGHT NOW, you are positioning yourself to be READY to have already put things together for what lies ahead. When opportunity comes, you’ll land all over it, because you are ready.

That is what the Laws of Positioning are all about. They’re about putting things together in your life so that you are READY when opportunity strikes. Oprah obviously believes in this.

Quote #2 – Definitions

Freedom – Exemption from external control, interference, regulation, etc.. The power to determine action without restraint. The absence of or release from ties, obligations, etc..

Will – The faculty of conscious and especially of deliberate action; the power of control the mind has over its own actions. The act or process of using or asserting one’s choice; volition.

Responsible – Answerable or accountable, as for something within one’s power, control, or management. Having a capacity for moral decisions and therefore accountable; capable of rational thought or action. Reliable or dependable, as in meeting debts, conducting business dealings, etc..

Ourselves – Our customary, normal, or healthy selves.

Quote #2 -What Does It Suggest?

This quote talks about another idea in which I strongly believe. It exemplifies one of the identifying principles as to how I live my life.

IF WE ARE WILLING TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO US, FOR EVERYTHING THAT WE DO, WE BECOME FREE.

If we are NOT willing to accept responsibility, then someone else must always be involved, even if it is to simply accept blame. IF WE TAKE 100% RESPONSIBILITY, then no one else is involved.

Because no one else is involved, there’s no one to get in the way. No one’s permission is required. We are free !!!

Quote #3 – Definitions

Not Only – Not singular. Used to express that more than one idea implies.

Responsible – Answerable or accountable, as for something within one’s power, control, or management. Having a capacity for moral decisions and therefore accountable; capable of rational thought or action. Reliable or dependable, as in meeting debts, conducting business dealings, etc..

What You Say – Anything that you utter; pronounce, speak; express in words; state; declare; state as an opinion or judgment.

Do Not Say – Negative.  Things that are not done.  Things that are not said.

Quote #3 -What Does It Suggest?

This quote hits on an EVEN BIGGER POINT IN MY LIFE.  So often I state, that what we do is not always as important as what we do NOT do.

If you help someone wonderful.

If you do NOT help someone, what then?

Which makes the bigger statement?  Unfortunately, our society is so focused on what people do, that it often forgets to look at what people do NOT do.

For example, I recently read an article about a major entrepreneur who has made a TON of money and who has been a pretty good person over the years.

The article talked about how he donated $100,000 in the form of investing in property he was going to own and about how great he was and how much he was working to make things better.

The article did not say – how he could have easily spent $1,000,000 and that even the $100,000 he invested was going to come back to him when he eventually sold his investment.

In short, the article made him look like a saint for what he was doing, instead of talking about all the things he was capable of doing, but he did NOT do.

That’s the difference.

A Prime Example From My Life

I remember when I first became a lawyer.  My older brother told me I was doing an excellent job of telling him what the contract I was reading said.

He said I would NOT become a good lawyer until I could tell him what the contract did NOT say !!!

His words were so true and he was 100% right.

Since then, I have made a living out of figuring out what was NOT being done.

You need to do the same.

Your Own Version Of Being Responsible

That’s what you need to do.  You need to be awake.  You need to be aware.  As we state in Law #14 – Position Yourself To Be Conscious, you have to pay attention to what’s going on.

Why?

It’s real simple.  If you don’t pay attention to what’s going on, someone else who IS PAYING ATTENTION – will take responsibility for you and will control you.

Control yourself.  Be responsible for your own actions.
