Position Yourself To Be Flexible
Nothing in the world is more flexible and yielding than water. Yet when it attacks the firm and the strong, none can withstand it, because they have no way to change it. So the flexible overcome the adamant, the yielding overcome the forceful. Everyone knows this, but no one can do it. (Lao Tzu)

What Do I Mean By Position Yourself To Be Flexible?
Don’t be rigid. Don’t be fixed. Don’t be stubborn. Be open to the possibility of change. Be adaptable.
What Does This Quote Suggest?
The water in the quote is merely an example. It is meant to provide an example of the power of flexibility.
The quote starts about by saying nothing is more flexible or yielding than water. Nothing is more response to change. Nothing is more adaptable. Nothing is more willing to give way when force is applied against it.
BUT, despite the fact it is both flexible and yielding, nothing can withstand its attack. Not the most rigid, not the most powerful.
That which is willing to adapt, that which is willing to bend, that which is open and receptive to change will prevail over that which is unyielding.
THEN, HERE’S THE KICKER.
Everybody understands this concept, but no one can follow it. In other words, it’s an easy concept to understand, but a hard one to apply.
The Power Of Flexibility
Personally, I believe that the ability to be flexible may be one of the greatest skills anyone can cultivate or possess.
All too often, I have encountered individuals who have what I refer to as “tunnel vision”. They refuse to see things through another person’s eyes. To them, their point of view is the only correct one and nobody else’s point of view could possibly be correct.
In my opinion, the most powerful people are those who are tolerant of other’s ideas. They are open to listening to other people’s opinions. They may or may not agree, but they try not to condemn others for their beliefs (unless it is absolutely necessary).
In other words, they are being as flexible as water.
Until next time, take care, my dear friends.Mr. Achievement
