Law #104 – Position Yourself To Grow
Change Is Inevitable. Growth Is Optional. (Walt Disney)
Some Definitions
Change – To become altered or modified. To become transformed or converted. A transformation or modification.
Inevitable – Unable to be avoided, evaded, or escaped; certain; necessary. Sure to occur, happen, or come; unalterable.
Growth – The act or process of development. Development from a simpler to a more complex stage.
Optional – Left to one’s choice; not required or mandatory.
What Is The Quote Suggesting
To me, this quote suggests 2 points.
Point #1
“Stuff” is always going to be happening.
Things will go up; things will go down.
Things will go left; things will go right.
Good things will happen; bad things will happen.
Point #1 is that, OVER TIME, things are probably not going to stay the same.
Point #2
People can either just live with the changes (i.e. – roll with the punches), or decide to take advantage of these changes and grow while they’re happening. Some people are afraid of change. Some people are not.
Which are you?
Point #2 is that, if you want to be successful, you have to decide that, over time, you want to grow. You do NOT want to remain stagnate. You want things to get better, not just stay the same.
The Question
Do you want to grow?
What Do I Mean By Growth?
Growth is becoming more than you were before. Growth is becoming better than you were before.
