Position Yourself To Be Caring
Three keys to more abundant living: caring about others, daring for others, sharing with others. (William Arthur Ward)
Caring – A state of mind in which one is troubled; worry, anxiety, or concern. To be concerned or solicitous; have thought or regard. To feel concern about.
Keys – Something that affords a means of clarifying a problem.
Abundant – Present in great quantity; more than adequate. Well supplied, abounding. Richly supplied.
Living – Active or thriving; vigorous; strong. Having life; being alive; not dead.
Daring – Adventurous courage; boldness.
Sharing – To divide, apportion, or receive equally.

What Is Ward Saying Here?
He is saying that if you want to live a rich life, a good life, money is not necessarily the answer. It takes more than money to live a good life. Instead, it requires that one go through life with a state of mind wherein they show concern for others. They must have thought or regard for others, not just themselves. They cannot be selfish.
Ward also suggests that we need to be adventurous and bold. We can’t just sit back and let things come to us. We have to take affirmative action in order to achieve our goals.
Lastly, he suggests that as we acquire abundance, we must be willing to share some of it with others. We can’t keep everything to ourselves. The truth of the matter is that all of us receive gifts each and every day. It is up to us to appreciate the gifts we receive and to return a portion of those gifts to others around us.
Let’s Rephrase The Matter
If we dare to care, we will acquire abundance to share. It really is that simple.
How Do We Learn To Care
Learning to care is easy, the minute you are willing to admit that you are not the only person on the face of this earth. As much as you would like for it to be the case, the world does not revolve around you. It doesn’t revolve around me. It doesn’t revolve around any one person, any one group, or any one nation. We are all in this together.
If you are willing to admit that you are not the only important person in the world, then you will start to care about what happens to others. Once you learn to care about others, you will dare to share. Once you dare to share, you will begin to take pleasure from your actions. Once you begin to take pleasure from your actions (caring), you will find that pleasure is addictive. You will want to keep caring and caring and caring.
Oprah’s Big Give Is A Perfect Example
If you had a chance to watch any (or all) of the episodes of Oprah’s Big Give over the past several weeks, you witnessed a perfect example of just how contagious caring about other can be. The contestants on the show were placed in different communities each week and they were instructed to find someone to care about and to get others to care also. The show did an excellent job in that regard.
I am quite sure each one of the contestants on the Big Give (and the recipients) have had their lives changed for ever. An abundance has entered into their lives and hopefully it will continue.
The same thing can and will happen to you, if you truly care.
