Instinct

by Stanley Bronstein on March 17, 2010

Meditation for Wednesday – March 17, 2010

Trust Your Instincts. It’s How One Stays Alive.

Trust – Reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence.

Your – Belonging to you.

Instincts – A natural or innate impulse, inclination, or tendency.  A natural aptitude or gift.

How – Way or manner to get something done.

One – Being a person, thing, or individual instance or member of a number, kind, group, or category indicated.

Stays – To hold out or endure, as in a contest or task.

Alive – In a state of action; in force or operation; active.   Having life; living; existing; not dead or lifeless.

So What Is Being Suggested Here?

This is another in my recent series of meditations about “trust.”

Previously we’ve talked about trusting others and about being trusted by others.

Now we’re going to approach it from a different angle.

Today’s meditation is all about trusting yourself.

Questions For You

So, I ask you:

  • Do you trust yourself?
  • Do you believe in your abilities; your talents and your ideas?

Learning to trust your instincts is one aspect of learning to believe in your abilities; your talents and your ideas.

Your instincts are just one of your abilities; one of your talents.

I’ve always believed THE MOST IMPORTANT THING anyone can ever learn to do is to learn to believe in their abilities; their talents and their ideas.

It is the foundation upon which everything else is laid.

So once again I ask:  Do you believe in yourself?

If yes, wonderful.  If not, why not?
