Execution – Getting Things Done

by Stanley Bronstein on July 20, 2009

In case you’ve been wondering why I haven’t been blogging quite as regularly over the past couple of months, it’s because I’ve been conducting research for my upcoming fourth book.

Well, I’m happy to say the research “gathering” portion of the book writing process has been completed.

I’m ready.  My materials are organized.

NOW IT’S TIME TO ROLL.  NOW IT’S TIME TO GET THE BOOK WRITTEN.

IT’S NOT ALWAYS EASY

For those of you who have ever written a book, or worked on a large project, you know it’s  not always easy to get it done.

However, with experience, the process does get easier.

For example, my first book took more than 4 years to write.  My second book took 1 year.  My third book took 6 months.  This fourth book is going to take 5 to 6 months.

I have found the MOST IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER IS THE FOLLOWING:

To remove a mountain, begin by carrying away small stones.

In other words, simply get started.  Simply get the ball rolling.  Simply get the process started.  Once you get things started, you will pick up momentum.  Things will begin to happen.

APPLYING THE LAWS OF POSITIONING TO THIS PROJECT

In order to assist me in this project, I am consciously applying the Laws of Positioning to my work.

Right now, I’m finding the quality I need most is that of discipline.  I must be disciplined enough to work on this project, EVERY DAY, FOR SEVERAL HOURS EACH DAY, in order to get it done.

To show you what I mean, I suggest reading about Laws Of Positioning #24  Position Yourself To Be Disciplined.
