Meditation for Monday Morning – December 14, 2009

You Can Do The Most Amazing Things If You Have Amazing Things To Do.

What Are Amazing Things?

Dictionary.com defines amazing as:

to overwhelm with surprise or sudden wonder; astonish greatly.

The Joy In Doing Something Amazing

I don’t know about you, but I “usually” love it when something surprising; something that astonishes comes into my life.

I especially love it when I am the cause of that surprising / astonishing thing.

That’s What These Daily Meditations Are About

I believe I have something to share with the readers of this blog.  For those of you who don’t know, I go for a long walk each morning (typically 3 to 4 hours).  While on those walks, I get a chance to do quite a bit of thinking (and hopefully it is quality thinking).

Setting A Theme For Each Day

One of the thoughts I had yesterday is that I want to set a theme for each day, BEFORE my walk, and then try to live that theme for the rest of the day.

With that in minds, today’s theme is the act of doing something amazing.

My Tasks For The Day

Task #1 – I need to think about 5 amazing things I’ve done over the past year.

Task #2 – I need to think about 5 amazing things I’m going to do over the next year.

Task #3 – I need to do one amazing thing today.

Starting A Private Diary

I’m going to start a private diary today to keep track of these thoughts.  I may or may not share some of my diary entries with my readers.

The Amazing Thing I Will Do Today

I am making the commitment to post a new daily meditation, each and every day for the rest of 2009 and all of 2010.  That’s 382 daily meditations between now and December 31, 2010.

I hope you will enjoy these meditations and much as I plan to.

I thought about doing amazing things while taking a 4 hour walk this morning.

Here are some of the things I came up with for my list:

AMAZING THINGS DONE IN 2009

1) Walked a minimum of 3 hours daily for more than 45 straight days
2) Wrote 2 books
3) Read and/or listened to more than 80 books / audiobooks

AMAZING THINGS I WILL DO IN 2010

1) Write 3 more books in the Moments series
2) Post to this Morning Meditation series daily
3) Read and/or listen to more than 100 books / audiobooks
